Psychological Assessment
A comprehensive examination toward meaningful clarity and direction.
At times it may be difficult to put our experiences, thoughts, and feelings into words. A psychological evaluation can be helpful in uncovering underlying cognitive, personality, and psychodiagnostic factors which we may not be fully aware of.
Comprehensive psychological assessment serves multiple purposes: clarifying diagnostic uncertainty, identifying personality structures, and informing subsequent treatment planning. I use a multimethod, evidence-based approach which includes intelligence, neuropsychological, personality, and projective testing to examine the complexity of the whole person.
The Assessment Process
The process begins with a complimentary initial consultation to discuss your referral questions and help decide whether an evaluation is right for you.
Assessments are conducted primarily in-person at my Brooklyn office and unfold over several sessions, depending on the scope of your referral question and depth required. Each session builds upon the prior ones, allowing for a dynamic approach which takes into account emerging information and new questions as they arise.
Following the assessment, we will schedule a feedback session to discuss the results and for me to answer any questions you may have and you will be provided with a written report for you to share with other providers. If psychological treatment is indicated, I can provide an additional individualized treatment plan to effectively address your concerns and help achieve your goals, informed by the results of your assessment.
